About The Glass House
The Glass House sits within Springfield Park in Hackney on the site of the park’s original Victorian glasshouse. It is a contemporary event space used throughout the year for weddings, civil ceremonies, and other occasions. Light fills the interior through multiple retractable skylights that can be opened at the press of a button, linking the inside of the building with the surrounding park while the structure remains covered.
Couples and their guests use two principal spaces. The Orchard Room opens through large glass doors on to a private terrace and courtyard, offering room for up to 150 people whether standing, seated for a banquet, or arranged theatre-style. Nearby, the Sky Room also holds up to 150 people and is often chosen for ceremonies or other gatherings. Both spaces enjoy abundant natural light and clean, contemporary lines, with portable partitions in the Orchard Room to adjust the interior as needed.
Furniture and basic production equipment such as a PA system, projector and screen, and a Bluetooth speaker are available in the venue. The Glass House is wheelchair-friendly and offers exclusive use of the booked spaces on the day of the event. These combined features create flexibility for how a wedding day flows between ceremony, reception and celebration within one broadly open site in an east London park setting.
